Protective Film on Glove Palms

Calma gloves come with a protective film on the latex palms to preserve grip during storage and transit. It's essential to remove this film carefully to avoid damaging the latex before use.

We know it can be a little tedious, but patience is key to keeping your gloves in top condition.

How to Remove the Film:

Begin by soaking the gloves in lukewarm water.

As the gloves become fully wet, the film will begin to loosen.

Slowly and gently peel away the film — avoid picking or pulling forcefully, as this can tear the latex.

Important: Only remove the palm film if you're certain you will be keeping the gloves, as once removed, they cannot be returned.

Do I Need to Pre-Wash My Gloves?

We strongly recommend pre-washing your gloves before their first use. This removes any factory residue and activates the grip.

How to Pre-Wash:

Lightly rinse the glove palms with cool or lukewarm water.

Do not use boiling water, as it can damage the latex.

Do not fully submerge the gloves in water for pre-washing.

Lay the gloves flat on a clean towel and press gently to remove excess water.

Never wring or twist the gloves.

Air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight.

Do not use detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners.

How Long Should My Gloves Last?

The lifespan of your gloves depends on usage, playing surface, and care:\

On grass, gloves can last 8–14 matches.

On artificial turf, latex may wear faster.

To extend glove life:

Use match gloves only in games.

Rotate with training gloves.
Always clean and air-dry after use.

My Gloves Have No Grip

If your gloves feel slippery or have poor grip:

Ensure the protective film has been removed (if present).

Make sure they’ve been properly pre-washed and slightly damp before use latex performs best when moist.

Keep latex damp

Dry or dirty gloves will naturally lose grip.
